Job Description  

We are seeking an Analyst to become an integral part of our team in the creation of our industry-leading market research and consulting services. The Analyst will be responsible for managing critical internal datasets which are composed of external sources of data along with internal proprietary estimates. This team member will also be responsible for deriving meaning from the data and communicating that to our subscribers through our written reports. Additionally, the Analyst will assist the team with our ad-hoc consulting engagements. 

The candidate must be passionate about working with data as a tool to learn and drive insightful analysis about an industry and its component pieces. A prospective team member has thus acquired a deep set of data management and analysis skills, which includes working knowledge of Excel, Tableau, SQL, and other data management and analysis tools. An ideal team member would also be energized by using this analysis to tell the story of the industry through various formats, both written form and more visual presentation. 

Data Analyst Skills and Traits  

• Firm understanding of data structuring best practices to optimize the organization of large data sets for efficient management, analysis, and visualization. 
• Working knowledge of data management and analysis software programs and/or languages: Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, or any other comparable program/language. 
• Comfort with data visualizations. Can form ideas around best ways to communicate the underlying story for a given data set. 
• Ability to seek efficient ways to gather data. Familiarity with data-scraping tools a plus. 
• Can apply data to real-world situations; works to understand the meaning behind the numbers and strives to interpret data from a story-based perspective. 
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to understand needs, seek deeper understanding, and effectively communicate ideas. 
• Excellent written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate analysis and insights through written communication.
• Working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint, or other reporting software. 
• Demonstrated ability to respond to evolving needs of the team or client. 
• Flexibility to work within a team or be self-driven to accomplish a given task. 
• Ability to guide their own learning journey and motivated to seek and fill knowledge-gaps as they arise. 

Experience  

Candidate must be motivated and able to work in an entrepreneurial environment. Preferred candidate would have 1-2 years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar position role within the Gaming industry or related to the Gaming industry. In other words, evidence of real-world application of learned data analysis skills and familiarity with the Gaming industry. 

Compensation  

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience and will include a base salary with the potential for an annual bonus depending on the firm’s overall profitability. Base salary will range from $60,000 to $90,000, which does not include a discretionary bonus that may reach up to 20% of base salary.
