About us

Our company is seeking a  Building Maintenance Technician  to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, systems, and equipment. This role involves working under limited supervision and monitoring building system operations and performance. You will also be providing essential maintenance support for fast-food restaurants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, systems, and equipment.
  • Monitor building system operations and performance.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Order the necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
  • Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment (major repairs are performed under the supervision of the Supervisor of Building Maintenance).
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seals, etc.; repair or replace broken parts.1
  • Replace broken windows; repair doors, door locks and closets; install window blinds.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly Work orders on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
  • Replace and repair wiring as needed.
  • May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.
  • May install computer cable.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repair plaster and drywall; paint building structures.
  • May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; order parts as needed.
  • Provide fast food restaurant maintenance support.
  • Commute between locations as needed.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have trade skills such as HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and roofing.
  • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to commute between locations.
  • Fluent in English and able to converse in English

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.

  Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with five - eight years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License is required and reliable transportation.
