We’re looking for senior tradespeople with Casing or Rock Drilling experience. 

Drillers are an essential member of the frontline team, responsible for drilling holes, monitoring their condition, and leading crews in the operation and care of drilling equipment. Drillers play a crucial role in achieving company goals, ensuring respect for company property, and maintaining a high standard of reliability, punctuality, and work ethic. 

Responsibilities

  1. Working with a Project Manager, Superintendent and teammates, apply your skills effectively to get work done efficiently, safely and correctly. 
  2. Work in your specialty area but be willing and able to contribute any work that helps drive project success. 
  3. Up to 100% travel 
  4. 3-week on 1 week off OR 
  5. 5-days on, 2-days off schedule depending on the crew and location of the work. 
  6. Learn and apply new skills so you can do more: machines, soils technology, specialty techniques, leadership and problem-solving principles. 

Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of geotechnical drilling experience
  2. Possess deep knowledge of different types of geotechnical tools and drilling techniques 
  3. Casing/Tie Back Drilling OR
  4. Rock Drilling experience (Comacchio, Klemm, Casagrande and Fraste drills)
  5. Maintain drills for optimal functionality, and work with teammates to understand their maintenance requirements.
  6. Maintain drill logs, as-builts, and other project documentation accurately. 
  7. At least one year of traveling construction labor experience.
  8. At least one year of working outside in all conditions. 
  9. Ability to understand and meet daily production targets. 
  10. A history of problem solving; the ability to grasp a problem, see a solution, and do whatever it takes to get the problem solved. 
  11. A history of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools. 
  12. Ability to be on time, all the time, every time. 

Compensation

  1. This is a GMTX job posting. The wage for that role is $-$
  2. Final hourly rate is based on your experience. In general, our pay scale increases for:
  3. More years of experience and technical expertise with the tools and technologies in drilling. 
  4. Ability to drive (CMV or CDL)
  5. Experience or certifications for heavy equipment operations (skid steer, forklift, Bobcat, Scissor lift, or CDL vehicles.)
  6. Experience with shotcrete or grouting pumps on the job.
  7. Experience directing teams, managing customer interactions, or managing projects. 
  8. All positions earn overtime
  9. 100% paid travel
