Serves as the Director of Business Development (BD) for all aerospace antenna and composite (radome) products for Axillon Aerospace Baltimore. Assists the GM & SVP BD in developing the organization’s overall strategic business development plan, and directs and executes the marketing of company products and/or services. Serves as primary customer contact for new business. Manages and directs all phases of new business capture and marketing including opportunity identification, campaign development and capture planning, supporting trade shows, exhibitions advertising and social media. Supports proposal preparation, negotiation, and program start-up. Provides Customer conduit and seamless interface between external customers to internal programs. In concert with the senior leadership team, develops and maintains overall marketing strategy and tactics to capture targeted programs and achieve company business goals and objectives. Provides advice and guidance to other functional departments to ensure overall product and market effectiveness. Works closely with Engineering to ensure practical application of technology to new product and market development. Provides input to and manages the Research & Development and Bid & Proposal budgets. Provides forecasts of new business awards for inclusion into the company’s financial plan. Serves as primary representative of the organization for intra-Axillon business development activities. Job Duties Directs the targeting and development of new business opportunities and customers. Insures that potential customers are fully apprised of the company’s technical and management capabilities. Attends trade shows and coordinates new business opportunity discussions with customer. Organizes new opportunity briefings and bridges engineering discussions. Works with the General Manager to coordinate business & proposal strategies designed to maximize the company’s chances of securing the targeted programs. Supports the proposal process through strategy discussions and estimating pricing targets. Oversees and coordinates the development of Proposal and Research & Development budgets and projects. Generates business forecasts and reporting, which outline critical customers and program opportunities for future work. Establishes annual budgets and tracks spend for the business development function. Travel And/or Driving Requirements Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job Travel up to 40% Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job Education Level: Required High School Diploma or GED; preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Field Of Study/Area Of Experience 5 years of experience in DOD Aerospace Industry at the tier-3 level. Specific experience in defense composites/electronics is desirable and understanding of radomes and antennas is a plus. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
