HSHS St. Mary's Hospital is seeking either a Medical Laboratory Technician or a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the lab team. Sign on Bonus of $20,000 offered. Ideal MLS candidates will be responsible for conducting a variety of tests on patient samples (blood, various body fluids, cells, and tissue, etc.) to detect the presence or absence of health conditions. Using biomedical instrumentation, microscopes, and computers to study samples obtained from patients, the Medical Laboratory Scientist provides data to physicians and health care providers for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ideal MLT candidates will be prepared to work under general supervision, perform routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, ensuring validity and accuracy of test results. Analysis performed may range from routine to complex testing, involving all major areas of the clinical laboratory and creating reports for findings. Position Specifics: Department: Lab; Schedule: Full time, 12 hr shifts, 3 days one week and 4 days the next week, 6:00p-6:00a; Facility: St. Mary's Hospital; Location: Decatur, IL; Compensation aligned with your experience. MLT range will be different than this MLS range listed. ($20,000 Sign On Bonus). Schedule: 6:00pm-6:00am with every other weekend rotation. You will work 3 days one week and 4 days the next. Sign On Bonus $20,000. Compensation aligned with your experience. Shift differentials for night, weekend, call! MLS Qualifications include Bachelor's degree with specific coursework and certification eligibility; MLT Qualifications include Associate's degree with specific coursework and certification eligibility.
