Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care-with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. **_J_** **_ob Summary:_** Assist doctor and other hospital staff by assembling medicines for prescriptions, communicating with outside pharmacies and routine pharmacy functions as well as other tasks involved in the operations of a veterinary hospital. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $24.00 per hour. **_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_** + Previous experience or training/education working in a medical facility preferred. + Must be friendly, outgoing, "people oriented." + Excellent communications skills. + Telephone and computer skills are necessary. + Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and to accept change, while having the ability to teach others. + Excellent problem solving, and mathematical skills. **_Education and Experience:_** + High School Diploma. + Certified Pharmacy Technician Preferred **_Physical Requirements:_** + Dependable attendance is required. + Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication. + Must be able to lift 40 pounds. + Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions. + This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day. + Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions. + Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone.
