Job Description
We're not just building robots-we're reshaping the future of work. Our vision is simple but bold: unleash the power of robotics to free people from repetitive, physically taxing tasks, so they can focus on what humans do best-creative problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.
We're on the front lines of the
robotics revolution , and warehouse automation is just the beginning. Our cutting-edge, software-driven systems
pick, move, pack, and collaborate with human-like skill and awareness -and they're already delivering real impact, with
over 15 million items picked in live production environments . Every system we deploy is guided by a relentless focus on empowering our customers to achieve more than they imagined possible.
Backed by world-class investors like Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Obvious Ventures, Dexterity is one of the fastest-growing robotics companies on the planet. We're a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team fueled by trust, passion, and dedication-and we're just getting started.
What You'll Do: Build Robots That Think, Move, and Work Like Humans As a
Robotics Engineer, you'll be at the core of bringing our intelligent robots to life. This is a hands-on role where you'll
design, prototype, and iterate complex mechatronic systems that seamlessly integrate hardware, software, and human interaction.
You won't be working on theoretical concepts-you'll be building
real-world solutions deployed globally . From motors and pneumatics to control panels and embedded software, you'll be engineering every detail to make our robots smarter, faster, and more reliable.
What You'll Own: - Design & Prototype: Create scalable, robust electro-mechanical systems across our entire robot stack using tools like SolidWorks, KiCAD, FEA, and AutoCAD.
- Control Systems: Design and integrate PLC-based control panels, safety systems, power electronics, sensors, and actuators, adhering to global standards (IPC, FCC, UL, CE).
- Testing & Debugging: Validate performance, identify bugs, and optimize system health using lab instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers).
- Embedded Development: Work with C/C++ and Python to monitor and refine system performance.
- Documentation & BOM Management: Write clear, detailed documentation to guide manufacturing, testing, and maintenance.
- Reliability & Safety: Perform FMEA analysis to identify and mitigate potential failure modes at every stage-design, production, deployment.
- Project Ownership: Contribute to product lifecycle management using tools like Jira and Arena, ensuring quality and scalability.
- Global Collaboration: Travel up to 25% worldwide (U.S., Canada, India, Taiwan, Japan, Mexico) to support deployments, customer needs, and manufacturing partners.
What You Bring to the Table: - Degree: Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or related fields.
- Technical Mastery:
- Electro-mechanical systems design & rapid prototyping (SolidWorks, 3D printing, machining).
- Industrial automation (PLCs, motor drives, sensors, actuators, safety modules).
- Controls concepts (PID tuning, bode plots, etc.).
- Embedded programming in C/C++ & Python .
- Familiarity with lab test instruments and debugging tools.
- Process documentation, assembly instructions, and FMEA analysis.
