Job Title: Systems Administrator II
Job Type: Full-time (On-site)
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of IT systems, including Windows and virtual environments, encompassing monitoring, maintenance, installation, and backups.
- Install and maintain infrastructure, including networks, servers, enterprise storage, and security systems.
- Install and maintain enterprise business applications, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Determine requirements for physical and virtual platforms and provide detailed implementation plans.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Research and recommend hardware and software enhancements.
- Research and resolve moderately complex issues, taking ownership from identification through resolution to prevent recurrence.
- Assist with and occasionally lead IT projects, utilizing project management methodologies and coordinating with peers, IT management, and cross-departmental teams (e.g., security, development) to assign tasks and resources effectively.
- Mentor personnel in Helpdesk Analyst and Systems Administrator I roles.
- Handle other projects and tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility in managing a wide range of responsibilities and adapting to changing priorities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Systems Administrator or related IT position.
- Certifications (Preferred): Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMWare Certified Professional, or equivalent.

- Technical Expertise: Operational knowledge and administration experience with Windows Server, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco network equipment, EMC storage systems, Checkpoint firewalls, relational databases, and emerging technologies like cloud computing and DevOps tools.
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Experience with disaster recovery planning and designing highly available solutions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Technologies:
The Systems Administrator II is expected to have hands-on experience and operational knowledge of the following technologies and platforms:
- Network Infrastructure: Cisco Routers and Switches, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco network equipment.
- Server and Virtualization: Windows Server, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange 2016 or 2019, Active Directory.
- Storage Systems: EMC storage systems.
- Security Systems: Checkpoint firewalls and other enterprise security solutions.
- Databases: Relational databases and their administration.
- Other Tools: Tools for monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and documentation (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
