Medical Solutions is seeking a travel Medical Lab Technician for a travel job in Omaha, Nebraska.

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Types and ages of patients, number of rooms Hematology, chemistry, coagulation, & urinalysis testing in a rapid turnaround testing environment. Use comprehensive knowledge to accurately perform and evaluate highly complex laboratory testing in an efficient manner. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and provide excellent customer service. 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) What equipment is attached to the clinic, x-ray, lab or do they have to send out for these? What hospitals will have privileges if any Sysmex XN 9000 (hemo), ACL TOPS 500 (coag), Beckman Coulter DxC 800 (chem) & DxI 800 (immunochem), Iris AX and iQ200 for urinalysis, Radiometer ABL 800 for blood gases. LIS: Sunquest HIS: EPIC 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Skills may include anything from Surgical (Ortho, Neuro, CV, etc.) Family Practice, Cardiology, Geriatrics, etc. Hematology & Chemistry knowledge & experience. 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (BLS, ACLS, NCCPA/AANP) Is a national certification required? Is a DEA, Prescriptive Authority required? Certified medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MLS(ASCP) or equivalent, (i.e. Medical Technologist (MT (ASCP)) OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist certified by the National Credentialing Agency (CLS (NCA)). Bachelor's degree and completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory science required. 6. Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff? This person would work in a team setting with 5-8 other techs (2 others if working a weekend). 7. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) NA 8. Dress Code: Dress casual or scrubs (no specific color at present). Lab coat provided. 9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Train with technologist at the bench or analyzer. We may limit training to a few specific analyzers/benches rather than training on everything.
