Within this role you will:

  • Train identified staff in the agency E.H.R. including general navigation and system overview, and position-specific navigational tasks.
  • Compose training reports detailing various milestone achievements and areas for growth and improvement.
  • Classroom management, real-time problem-solving, and collaboration with employee supervisors to communicate concerns or needs.
  • Incorporate principles of adult learning in the design and delivery of effective training.
  • Incorporate E.H.R. functionality changes into training curriculums.
  • Assist with training existing staff in preparation for E.H.R. promotions and other functionality / improvement changes across the agency.
  • Assist / participate in testing new internal workflows in the E.H.R. system.
  • Maintain, revise, and collaborate to create and update all training materials and content (checklists, flowcharts, screen shots, training videos) in UKG Pro Learning and SharePoint.
  • Complete training set up including creating patient charts, scheduler templates, etc.
  • Coordinate with Employee Services Department to monitor anticipated new hires each month (total numbers and positions).
  • Provide feedback to trainees as needed and respond to questions, concerns during training.
  • Attend monthly department meeting, regularly scheduled training meetings and supervision.
  • Participate in any committees relative to training content (where applicable).
  • Perform other related duties and activities as required.

What makes you a great candidate?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
  • Experience in a behavioral health setting preferred (e.g., hospital inpatient, residential, counseling office, mental health/substance use treatment services).
  • Prior experience in training or instructional design preferred. This can include previous formal and informal training experience.
  • Knowledge of Cerner Millennium E.H.R. system is highly desirable; prior experience with this or similar systems (e.g. Epic, NextGen) is advantageous.

Additional skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a hybrid team, effectively managing a mix of remote and in-person work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor content to different audiences (non-clinical and clinical staff, varying roles and backgrounds).
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft 365 software and virtual learning platforms (Teams / Zoom).
  • Open-minded and highly adaptable to changes in the healthcare environment, including evolving regulatory requirements and technology advancements (e.g. additional technology solutions, ambient listening/artificial intelligence – “AI”).
  • Strong desire / motivation to approach your work with curiosity, creativity, willingness to learn and continually improve
  • Experience applying adult learning theory to adapt trainings to meet individual needs and to create engaging training materials for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with trainees, fostering a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborative and person-centered approach to working with colleagues, trainees, and community members.
  • Strong facilitation skills to manage group discussions and ensure active participation through dynamic training delivery and diverse teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with Community Behavioral Health state and federal regulations and programming is a bonus.

Location

This position is located at our corporate office at 55 Dodge Rd, Getzville, NY and works partially remote. You must have the ability to travel to other clinics within the Western New York area as needed.

Hours

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Typical hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, however, hours may vary based on training need and could include evening hours.

Compensation:

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $22.00 - $23.50 per hour. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:

  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting
  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
